Nomos Glashütte: Sophisticated design meets high-quality mechanics
Although the Nomos Glashütte company is only a quarter of a century old, the manufactory has already proved itself to be a purveyor or genuine watch classics. It is also the largest German manufacturer of mechanical watches and has created eleven movements. The recipe for success is the brand’s young, fresh image, as well as the brand’s aim to modernize the mechanical watch with contemporary design and high-quality mechanics.
Pioneering spirit and Glashütte know-how
The beginnings of Nomos Glashütte date back to 1990 as Roland Schwertner founded the company shortly after the fall of the Berlin Wall. The brand produced its first four basic models in 1992: Tangente, Orion, Ludwig, and Tetra. The Tangente, which has long been considered a classic, is a real icon for the brand as its shape and quality have won many awards.
Technological independence
Nomos Glashütte has concentrated on vertical integration from the very beginning. For this brand, at least 50 percent of the caliber must be produced locally, as required by all watchmakers who state "Glashütte" as the origin of their watches. Today, Nomos Glashütte easily achieves this requirement, by ensuring that up to 95 percent of the production of every watch takes place in Glashütte, depending on the caliber. In 2014, the manufacturer amazed experts by launching its own Nomos Swing System. Only a few watch brands in the world can produce a swing system as they are tiny and light as a feather and form the heart of the mechanical watch.
Shortly after the launch of the Nomos-Swing-System, the brand also presented a new generation of hand-wound flat and chronometer-precise automatic movements.
Nomos Glashütte at Wempe

We also carry numerous other lines from this German brand and offer a comprehensive watch service for every model.
