Jacques Helleu designed the CHANEL J12 shortly before the turn of the millennium. The J12 is an entirely new watch line and the first sports watch from CHANEL. The creative director from the legendary fashion house drew his inspiration for the creation from the sleek IACC yachts that competed in the America's Cup, in particular the J12. To this day, the CHANEL J12, which was launched in 1999, bears the name of this racing boat. And what color is this sporty watch? Black, of course, the classic and declared favorite color of Madame Coco, otherwise known as Gabrielle Chanel. Aside from a few subtle adjustments, the CHANEL J12 has retained its original appearance to this day.
