With Ref. 5236P-001, Patek Philippe is adding a perpetual calendar with an in-line display to its range of calendar watches. The day, date and month are displayed in an elongated window below 12 o'clock, controlled by the calendar module of self-winding movement 31-260 PS QL, for which three patent applications have been filed. The combination of the moon-phase display and the small seconds display at 6 o'clock creates a harmounious counterbalance to the perpetual calendar in the upper half of the dial. The case of the new Grand Complication presents itself in shiny platinum with a diameter of 41.3 millimeters and is water-resistant to 3 bar. A discreet black color gradiant and vertical satin finish give the blue dial a very elegant appearance. The color-coordinated alligator-skin strap is fitted with a platinum folding clasp.
