Montblanc: Exquisite writing instruments from Hamburg
Montblanc's success story began at the beginning of the 20th century when the brand started to produce its fountain pens to sell in stationery shops in Hamburg and Berlin. Today, Montblanc is known around the world for its superior writing instruments, from ballpoint pens to fountain pens. Four lines are currently available from Montblanc: the classic Meisterstückline, which includes the legendary 149 model, which has remained relatively unchanged since 1952; the Bohéme line, which has been available since 2000; the StarWalker collection designed for a younger target group with floating Montblanc emblems in the transparent caps; and the Etoile de Montblanc line with its floating diamonds in the shape of the Montblanc emblem. These signature Montblanc lines are also complemented by limited special editions.
More than just writing instruments: The Montblanc range
Although originally founded in Germany, Montblanc has been part of the Swiss Richemont Group since 1993, which means that Montblanc is in good company with other renowned brands, such as A. Lange & Söhne and Jaeger-LeCoultre. Although fountain pens and ballpoint pens have always been the brand’s mainstay, Montblanc has also made a name for itself with its other high-quality accessories and watches. Speaking of watches, Montblanc acquired the Minerva factory in 2006 and since then has become a serious brand for Haute Horlogerie! At Wempe, you will find a selection of Montblanc’s world-famous writing instruments and watches.
By the way, although the brand's logo looks like a star, it’s a symbol of the summit of the Mont Blanc mountain surrounded by its six valleys.
