Inspired by the Minerva pocket watches and chronographs from the 1920s and 30s, the new Montblanc 1858 collection is shaped by the philosophy of the past. It bears witness to the trend to get back to nature in search of great adventures. Thanks to the used materials, such as a bronze alloy changing its color with the course of time, or the innovative Worldtime Geosphere, the watches of the 1858 collection are the perfect companion for the modern explorer.

The different design elements recall vintage codes inspired by the world of alpine mountaineering and the original Minerva chronographs. The satin-finished and carefully remodeled cases feature horns with polished beveled edges, which give them a more slender appearance and underscore their shape. A further design element reminiscent of the models of bygone days is the grooved crown. The overall look is optimized by a resistant sapphire crystal glass box.

An eventful history in its most beautiful form

Strong color contrasts on the dial ensure not only perfect readability, but are also a distinctive design feature – just like the historic cathedral-shaped hands that are now slightly domed for the very first time and come with a luminescent coating and a cloisonné pattern. Furthermore, the models have Arabic numerals with SuperLumiNova® coating, a chemin-de-fer minute circle and the original Montblanc logo from the 1930 including the historic font and a sketch of the Mont Blanc.

The Montblanc 1858 Automatic Chronograph combines a strong vintage aesthetic with a chronograph function. This model is available in a stainless steel or bronze case.
The Montblanc 1858 Automatic is the purest vintage-inspired timepiece, featuring all the distinctive codes and introducing a smaller case size within the collection.
For utmost legibility and refinement, the luminescent cathedral-shaped hands are slightly domed from left to right.
Paying tribute to the 160th anniversary of Minerva, the Montblanc 1858 Geosphere embodies the spirit of mountain exploration with a professional and innovative timepiece that is destined for those who travel the world in their quest for exploration.

Savoir-faire for all senses

Maison Montblanc is one of the few watch brands that manufactures its own leather straps. The aged calfskin for the straps comes from the brand’s own leather manufacture – the Pelletteria – making every watch a one-of-a-kind piece. Thanks to this in-house expertise, Montblanc has developed a distinctive line of vintage watchbands, as for example a bund strap, which perfectly match the aesthetics of the Montblanc 1858 collection. All watches are also available with a high-quality NATO strap for those who want a more fashionable look. These textile straps are made by a traditional French weaving manufacture with more than 150 years of experience. Thanks to its skilled craftsmanship the sophisticated, sturdy and durable NATO straps offer as well a high wearing comfort.
