The Jaeger-LeCoultre manufacture, which is affectionately known as “La Grande Maison,” has developed more than 1,249 calibers and registered over 400 patents since it was founded in 1833. In the company’s museum, a whole wall is filled with hundreds of the precise movements that were developed here. In addition to high-tech laboratories, the manufacture also houses the ateliers of the engravers and enamellers who elevate classic watches such as the Reverso into individual works of art. Jaeger-LeCoultre and Wempe have been close business partners for more than 60 years. Wempe’s Jaeger-LeCoultre Boutique on Goethestrasse in Frankfurt is an expression of this successful cooperation. And it’s only the most recent of a series of cooperative projects. The two companies worked together to develop special Reverso models in 1998, 2003, and 2005.
