Saxonia by A. Lange & Söhne

Four new timepieces featuring mechanical virtuosity in a clear-cut design

To the Saxonia Collection

Oblique close-up of the white-gold-black Saxonia outsize date on a glass table
The development of a new Saxonia model always starts with the movement. This approach is typical of A. Lange & Söhne and results in functional solutions in a clear-cut design. The most distinctive feature is the large date display. Numerals about three times larger than those in watches of comparable size indicate the date in a golden frame.
The lavishly decorated self-winding caliber with a large central rotor made of platinum
The self-winding movements of the Saxonia collection by A. Lange & Söhne are elaborately finished and assembled by hand. A large central rotor with an outer centrifugal mass in platinum keeps the mainspring tensioned. The hand-engraved balance cock with the classic whiplash spring makes each Saxonia a unique work of art.
The moon disk is made of massif gold and comprises 852 laser-cut stars
Only the most precious materials are chosen for A. Lange & Söhne’s handcrafted timepieces. The case of a Saxonia is always made of solid rose or white gold. The black galvanized solid-silver dials harmonize perfectly with the gold appliques and hands. Even the moon disc with its 852 laser-cut stars is made of solid gold.

Saxonia Moon Phase in rose gold

Fusion of symmetry and contrast

The new Saxonia Outsize Date by A. Lange & Söhne combines exciting design elements with technical finesse. The characteristic outsize date display, the small seconds sub-dial at 6 o’clock and a deep-black dial characterize the expressive face of the self-winding watch, which is available in white or rose gold. In the Saxonia Outsize Date, the display – a classic arrangement of two white discs with black numerals – sports a new design. The date discs of the precisely centered outsize date are black and feature white printed numerals to match the black galvanized solid-silver dial. Applied hour markers in solid gold and the elegantly proportioned case in white or rose gold underscore the richly contrasting overall personality of the watch.

Bright moon in black night

Functional, easy to use, and clearly organized – with these assets, the Saxonia Moon Phase, first introduced in 2016, fulfils all of the criteria of a wristwatch that its owners will always enjoy wearing. The black dial enhances the optics of the white- or rose-gold timepiece with the two classic complications. The moon-phase display is calculated to remain accurate for 122.6 years. It is connected to the hour-wheel continuum and thus, just like the moon itself, constantly in motion. In this new version, to match the black dial, the date numerals are also white on a black background.
