In 1904, Louis Cartier fulfilled the dearest wish of the famous Brazilian pilot Alberto Santos Dumont: being able to tell the time while he was flying. The creation of the first-ever wristwatch sealed a lifelong friendship between these two pioneers of the avant-garde.
The dial with its rounded corners and striking screws made the model a unique timepiece. Cartier reinterpreted this watch to celebrate the company’s 100th anniversary.
