The best of both worlds – the A. Lange & Söhne Zeitwerk
With the A. Lange & Söhne Zeitwerk, this Saxony based watch brand has succeeded in creating an aesthetic and technical sensation as this is the first mechanical watch to display the time digitally. The time bridge on the dial is an unmistakably modern statement, which forms part of the movement and provides the framework for the digital display of hours, minutes and the small seconds. The force that is required to change the numerals is provided by a patented spring barrel. The switching time is controlled by the patented construction of the selfwinding mechanism.
The different A. Lange & Söhne Zeitwerk models
The innovative A. Lange & Söhne Zeitwerk is available in a number of different designs. The model with a black dial is particularly striking, but there are models with a gray or white dial available too and the cases are come in white or rose gold. A fascinating complication is offered by the A. Lange & Söhne Zeitwerk Striking Time which consists of a visible striking mechanism that sounds every hour and every 15 minutes.
A. Lange & Söhne at Wempe
Wempe and A. Lange & Söhne have a long history together. Herbert Wempe and Otto Lange, grandsons of the company's founder, founded the initial cooperation between the two companies. One of their first joint ventures was the establishment of the "Glashütte Observatory" consortium in the 1930s . After the A. Lange & Söhne was refounded in 1990, we began to stock the elaborate watches from the Glashütte manufactory at Wempe again. Along with the watches in the A. Lange & Söhne Zeitwerk collection, we also carry other lines from this brand online and in our showrooms.
