Visionary design and the inventive Italian spirit: With the Panerai Luminor Luna Rossa GMT - 44 mm, reference PAM01036, Panerai is presenting a new model with a second time zone. This official watch was released to bring luck to the Luna Rossa crew for the 36th America’s Cup, with the elaborate engraving on the back underscoring the watchmaker’s connection with aquatic sport. The case has a diameter of 44 millimeters and water-resistance of 30 bar, and is made of extremely lightweight and robust titanium. The classic sandwich dial is lined with a thin layer of the high-tech sailcloth that was used as part of the sail for Luna Rossa yacht. The “Luna Rossa Challenger 36th America’s Cup” inscription above six o’clock and the bright-red detail on the seconds hand and seconds display at nine o’clock reinforce the image of an unconventional and highly athletic wristwatch. The Arabic numerals and hour markers in fluorescent green are highly legible, even in the dark. The mechanical timekeeper within the watch is a P.9010/GMT caliber manufactured in the Panerai workshop. The black strap made of “Ponte Vecchio” calfskin with white stitching is complemented by a second black rubber strap, which comes included with the watch.
