Glashütte Original Spezialist – a tool watch with a history
Each individual Glashütte Original watch draws from the rich history of Saxon watchmaking while offering a contemporary interpretation of this tradition. The most recent example is the Glashütte Original Spezialist, which goes back to a sport diving watch from 1969. Consistently geared to the requirements of this sport, the Glashütte Original Spezialist once again bears witness to the manufactory's high level of engineering competence and precision mechanical expertise.
Glashütte Original Spezialist – A diving watch for professional purposes
With its passion and attention to detail, Glashütte Original continues to revive classics from decades of history in the form of new, authentic watches. This includes the Glashütte Original Vintage collection with its two lines – Sixties and Seventies. A new addition is the Glashütte Original Spezialist, based on the "Spezimatic Type RP TS 200" from 1969, which is also on display at the German Watch Museum in Glashütte. Specially developed for sport and combat divers, it is known for its high accuracy and quality of construction. The number of jewels as well as the "Shockproof" label on the black dial are proof of the high quality standard of these watches. The SeaQ and SeaQ Panorama Date, which form the prelude to the new Glashütte Original Spezialist collection, also meet this standard.
Precision instruments from Glashütte
Highly precise and reliable timing instruments for navigation and positioning have been manufactured in Glashütte since the 19th century. Numerous historical marine chronometers, observation, aviator and diving watches bear witness to this expertise. Based on this rich tradition, Glashütte Original is launching yet another stellar collection – the Spezialist. The launch of this new line brings the SeaQ diving watch, which combines history and modernity excellently.
Glashütte Original Spezialist – a diving watch made in Germany
As the technical flagship of the new Glashütte Original Spezialist line, it's time for the SeaQ Panoramadatum to set sail. The DIN and ISO-certified diving watch offers a water resistance of 300 meters and meets the strictest quality standards in terms of water resistance, shock resistance and salt water resistance. As the name suggests, this watch features a special finesse from the Glashütte manufactory – the panorama date, which displays the date in large format without a bridge between the two numerals. It is available with a blue or black dial.
The SeaQ, which is water-resistant to 200 meters, is particularly close to the original from 1969 in terms of both appearance and size. The DIN and ISO-certified watch is a reliable companion for adventures of all kinds, but also looks good with a business outfit.
Top features of the Glashütte Original Spezialist
Along with its subtle vintage design, the Glashütte Original Spezialist line has a number of style-defining technical characteristics that are cutting edge. These include the counterclockwise rotating bezel with minute graduations in the ceramic inlay for setting the dive time and the screw-down crown. The hands and appliqués on the dials are coated with Superluminova to ensure excellent readability in all conditions. The SeaQ is in the "Old Radium I" color, which gives it its distinctively retro look. Three different types of strap are available: a robust gray synthetic strap, a flat metal strap with a fine adjustment buckle and folding clasp and a rubber strap that also has a folding clasp.
Manufacturing competence at the highest level
Like all of the lines from this brand, the two diving watches – SeaQ and SeaQ Panoramadatum – are driven by high-end manufactory calibers. The SeaQ features an automatic caliber 39-11 with stop-seconds and swan neck fine adjustment. The automatic movement builds a power reserve of at least 100 hours and is equipped with an innovative silicon spiral. Thanks to this high-tech material, the wafer-thin hairspring is not only insensitive to magnetic fields and temperature differences, but also oscillates isochronously, ensuring that it runs exceptionally smoothly.
